My story

Little Miss Fi has settled in like the easygoing lass she is. At 6.5 pounds, she's a small one, who loves some lap time but she's independent and doesn't always need to be right up under her person. She's got a fun personality, quirky and delightful; she marches to the beat of her own drum. She's also down for a good cuddle anytime - it's kind of the best of both worlds. Fiona Brooke will need a little time to become settled at her new home to feel comfortable being left alone as she is vocal and so not well suited for apartment living. She settled in quickly at her foster home and believe she will do so in her new home with time and patience. She will do best with another dog at home and with humans that have time to spend with her. She was said to be good with kids 7+ yrs at her previous home but does not live with kiddos in her foster home. Great with other dogs after a little ‘get to know ya’ time as expected with all doggie. She’s skilled at going potties outside using a dog door. She will need to learn leash walking skills but is eager to learn. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Fiona Brooke will go to her new home microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
