My story

*** Roxie is in our Petsmart Encinitas adoption center. ***Roxie #18570: black/orange/white calico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/11Cats: wants to be soloDogs: unknown / probably notChildren: tweens+BACKGROUND: Roxie came back to our care after her beloved human dad suddenly passed away. She is clearly missing him and the happy life they had together, but having known that love we know that she will be able to bond with her new person.PERSONALITY: There is nothing like the feeling of coming home to someone waiting for you like Roxie does: she is a very loving lap cat who also sleeps on the bed with you at night. When it’s colder she’ll burrow under the covers and be a lump on the bed for her naps, though warm sunbeams are also a favored location. Roxie is a very calm and docile kitty; she purrs when she’s petted and she has the softest fur. She isn’t that active or playful, but will keep a watchful eye on you when you’re taking a shower sometimes vocalizing her concern for your safety due to all that water! Roxie needs some time to adapt and get to know new places and people, and if you give her that time and encouragement then she will become your devoted companion.COMPATIBILITY: Roxie is happiest as an only kitty. She doesn’t want to interact with other cats (especially kittens) and shows her best self when solo. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs but do know that she prefers a calm routine-oriented environment. Younger children would not be a good fit; she is used to and would likely prefer an adult home though can potentially live with respectful tweens and up.This love bug is longing for a special person to give her the daily attention and affection she needs and craves. Roxie’s loyalty is the sweetest reward… will you make her dream come true?
