My story

** PLEASE EMAIL questions, please DO NOT call. We are a volunteer based group and are unable to handle the call volume. WE HOLD ADOPTIONS ON SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS FROM 10-4 PM at our Adoption Center. Our adoption center is located next to CAL Ranch at 232 North Jones (I-95) Suite 170. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY, just walk right in. Oreo is about 2 1/2 year old. He and his sister were surrendered to a shelter due to the owners work scheduled having her traveling 5 days a week. He is good with other dogs, but needs a home without cats and chickens. Oreo aka Charlie's adopter is moving out of the country and is being returned to the rescue. Charlie is an almost 3-year-old Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog mix with a soft heart, a playful spirit, and the kind of soulful eyes that make you feel like he understands everything. Rescued from a rough start, Charlie has come such a long way—his coat is shiny, his teeth are healthy, and he’s learned how to trust, love, and enjoy life. He’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on companionship. If you work from home, he’ll quietly keep you company for hours, always nearby, always watching with love. Charlie is smart and full of personality. He doesn’t quite know how to play fetch, but he loves chasing his tail when he’s bored and will gently nibble you in play when he’s feeling silly. Daily walks and playtime are important to keep him happy—he has the energy and intelligence typical of herding breeds, and he’s always curious about the world. He knows basic commands but does pull a bit on the leash when excited. One of Charlie’s sweetest quirks is that he genuinely enjoys having his teeth brushed! His nightly dental care routine is something he looks forward to, and he’ll come to his person ready for his doggie toothpaste and attention. He does well with other dogs in the same household and is gentle (though cautious) around cats. He hasn’t interacted with babies, so any introductions should be gradual and supervised. Charlie does have some anxiety, especially when left alone for too long, so he’s best suited for someone who’s home often or who can help him slowly build more confidence. He’s looking for a loving home with someone who is patient and understanding of his quirks. He doesn't need perfect—just someone who sees his heart, meets him where he is, and helps him keep growing. A Path 4 Paws holds adoption events at our Adoptions Center, located at 232 N. Jones Blvd, Suite 170 right next to CAL Ranch (North Jones/ I-95). Please bring your dog(s) for a meet and greet (if applicable) Please bring your entire family so everyone can meet. We have limited space at the store, therefore we can not take every dog out to the event. This pet comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org . You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours, Monday-Friday. This pet is spayed/neutered, has current vaccinations and includes a microchip, deworming and 2 free vet visits, including a Healthy Start Certificate with the VCA Hospitals with a $250 health credit (restrictions apply).
