Thalia is a 4 year old dilute tortie. She is an independent girl but likes people who respect her space. If she’s overstimulated, she may nip or scratch or act like she’s about to (she will slowly try to bite as if she’s giving you time to pull your hand away aka a “slow-mo bite”). We originally got her at 4 Paws as someone’s unwanted gift. Her original owner even said she’s been nipping people since she was 12 weeks old – a bad habit she has yet to break. She was adopted from 4 Paws and returned after about 3 years because of the biting. She has now been at 4 Paws for a year and a half. She can get overstimulated and annoyed with too much petting. She is a cat that needs an experienced and patient cat owner, willing to learn her body language. Thalia is a cat that may simply bite strangers because she doesn’t know them, which will only get better the more she likes you. When first meeting her, it’s best to pet her head first. Over time she will let you pet her body. She loves to play and she loves to get inside of cubbies, boxes, bags, purses - you name it. When staff gets to work she is SO excited to see them and runs around with the zoomies. She loves wand toys, cat trees, small fuzzy toys with long tails, climbing, and exploring. She’s even gotten stuck in a closet or two because she has to inspect everything. She even likes to tear apart cardboard boxes with her teeth and rip up pieces of paper. She will steal paperclips from your desk. She is the perfect office assistant as she will lay on your desk and keep you company. She communicates with her eyes too, often silently staring at you for something she wants. She can be a door dasher too as she is curious of everything, so watch out! We don't recommend her for grabby young children or the elderly with thin skin. She is a GREAT kitty if people are willing to learn her body language and respect her space when she asks for it. She does not do well with punishment, so when she tells you that she doesn’t like something, it’s best to back off.
