My story

**GERALDINE'S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN SPONSORED** Meet Geraldine! This doe-eyed gal is as sweet as pie and she is ready to find her people. Geraldine had a rough start. She was born with a condition known as swimmer syndrome, which is a congenital condition that affects the limbs. She also had a painful injury to one of her hind legs which required amputation, but thankfully she has recovered completely from that surgery! Due to the swimmer syndrome, she doesn't have full control of her remaining back leg, but Geraldine doesn't let that slow her down! She can run, play, climb stairs and cat trees, and chase toys like nobody's business. And don't let her fool you - Geraldine is FAST! Geraldine is incredibly sweet and friendly. This girl loves everyone she meets and loves to be around people. She doesn't much like being held, but she loves company and will happily curl up in your lap for a snuggle. She loves to roll over and show off her belly, and her foster mom promises it's not a trap - she loves a good belly rub! Geraldine makes a cute little chirping sound when you're nearby, which is her way of saying - Hi, I see you and I'd like attention! Geraldine hasn't been a big fan of other kitties and has a room of her own in her foster home. In addition to being oh-so-sweet, Geraldine is also super playful. She loves to zoom around the room and chase her favorite toys, which include a plush Valentine's toy, a crinkle ball toy, and a few colored spring toys. She also loves her ball-track tower and will eagerly chase a wand toy. When she wants to play, she'll carry a toy over to you and drop it at your feet - and if that isn't cute enough, she also plays fetch! Yes, you read that right, a cat that plays fetch! Adorable, right?! Geraldine does have some ongoing medical needs that we want to make sure potential adopters are aware of. When she is awake, she uses the litterbox without any problem. However, when she is asleep she does sometimes leak small amounts of urine. Geraldine's foster mom suggests providing her with sleeping surfaces that can be easily washed, and using puppy training pads to protect any soft furniture that she'll have access to. She gets prescription food (Royal Canin Urinary Care + Calm formula) to help support her urinary tract health (she is prone to urinary tract infections) and is very good about eating it. Geraldine also takes a daily joint supplement which can easily be mixed with some yummy wet food. Geraldine is a very special little girl and we know she'd make a wonderful companion for someone that's looking for a sweet, silly, playful cat. Everyone who has met Geraldine has just adored her, and we know you will too! Apply to meet Geraldine today! www.tenthlifecats.org/adopt

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Geraldine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
