My story

Hi there, I’m Luka! I was born right here at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and I’m currently living in a foster home while I wait for my forever family. I’m a sweet, gentle boy with a lot of love to give, but I can be a little shy at first. Once I trust you, though, I’m your loyal cuddle buddy and couch potato—65 pounds of pure lap dog! 🐾 I have a mild neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, which means I can be a little clumsy and sometimes flinch when I’m startled. I might freeze up on walks or struggle with stairs, but I don’t let that slow me down—I always find my way with a little encouragement. This makes me unique, and I think it’s part of my charm! 💖 I love people and other dogs, but I do best in a home with older kids or just adults, since I’m still learning about my size and I can be a bit anxious if I am around alot of loud noise and excitement. I’ve learned a lot—like using the restroom outside, (YAY) sleeping in my crate, and even learning to sit! 🐶 I’m a low to moderate energy guy, and short walks or a good game of tug-o-war are my favorite ways to get exercise. I will be ok in a home with a fur friend, but I am best sharing a home with a calmer mild-mannered dog.
