** If you are interested in Bob, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ WE DO NOT ACCEPT INQUIRIES** Bob has the sweetest most soulful eyes, and like all rescue pups, he is just looking for a loving, peaceful home. Bob is a silly little Chihuahua/Basenji Mix. His estimated birthday is May 13, 2023 which would put him around 4 months old. He currently weighs 11 lbs and is expected to weigh about 15-17 lbs. when full grown. He would be great for someone who either works in a dog friendly office or from home or is retired. He is the perfect little companion to go everywhere with you, and is so sweet to everyone he meets! Note from Foster: "This little guy is gaining more and more confidence everyday! He gets along great with my 2 dogs, and I know that he loves having their companionship. Everyday his potty habits are getting better and he's having accidents in the house less frequently. I also leave him crate while I'm out and he loves it. He thinks of it like his little safe haven." We would love to see Bob in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he’s appropriately playful and fun-loving and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. He will be a wonderful companion for active, fun-loving individual or family who have the time and energy to give a dog the proper exercise and stimulation that he needs! He would also fit in well with a family that works from a home-based office and loves to have a best companion to love up throughout the day. We feel that Bob is too social a guy to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. He doesn't require another dog to be happy if his people are very present and involved...but does enjoy his canine relationships with playful dogs. Bob would also benefit from attending a level 1 training class taught by one of our approved trainers. Farfel's Farm believes in only using positive reinforcement/force free training methods, because we have found that to be more effective. Dogs that do not get proper training and socialization have a much higher risk of developing behavioral problems, and there is a bonding that occurs through the training process that can't be duplicated. It will also teach Bob behaviors that will enable him to go out into the world with excellent manners, and it will create a very respectful relationship between him and his owner. Bob is up to date on his shots, but has yet to be neutered. We cover the cost of his neuter at our approved Vet Clinic. This supports our work and hopes that one day dog overpopulation will become a thing of the past and therefore it will be unnecessary to euthanize a healthy dog. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bob, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
