My story

Adopt Glenbrook - named after Glenbrook Brewery in Morristown. He came to us with his siblings after being a stray in Newark. They were very sick with URIs but have since fully recovered! Glenbrook is largest in the litter and just a floppy ragdoll lovebug of a kitten. He loves snuggling, lounging around and being held. Truly the perfect kitten... Unfortunately, Glen is feleuk positive. Please read up on Feline Leukemia Virus to better understand what you would be getting into adopting a feleuk+ cat. There is no cure for feleuk. Cats and kittens with feleuk can live anywhere from 6 months to 10 years... Anyone adopting from this litter will definitely have to be on top of their medical as feleuk causes a weak immune system. As of right now they don't have any medical issues or need any medicine which is why they just need monitoring from here. It's spread mostly through saliva, mainly mutual grooming/prolonged close contact or bite wounds and rarely sharing food/water bowls (these guys most likely got it from their mothers milk), so they shouldn't live with any cats who are feleuk negative unless they are kept separated. The virus doesn't live long in the environment and you can't pass it from cat to cat simply by touch so no worries there. We do plan on retesting them 60 days from their initial test to see if it's still positive.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Glenbrook, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
