My story

**** Please read adoption information carefully!!!**** Jewel is a sweet, special little girl! She is very curious, athletic, affectionate and loving. She is a lap dog. When not playing or investigating the yard, she prefers to snuggle and curl up next to or on top of you. Jewel was rescued after being hit by a car. A kind man fed and protected her until he found someone (me in this case), who could/would help her. She required multiple orthopedic surgeries and casts, and physical therapy to fix the breaks/damage. She is fully recovered. She is NOT special needs. Jewel has full function and range of motion in affected hip and femur. She can run, walk, play, jump, and even stand on her hind legs like normal. There’s not even a limp, or hitch in her step. But she is very used to being handled! Jewel is a well-adjusted puppy who has been hand raised. She has never shown any signs of aggression of any kind, including food aggression. All of the puppies are fed together, and typically choose to share three or four bowls. Jewel is used to playing and sleeping with the other dogs on the property. She is well socialized, both with humans and dogs. While I have never seen her interact with a cat, I have no reason to anticipate a problem. ************************************ ADOPTION INFORMATION ************************************ I only adopt LOCALLY; San Diego and immediate vicinity. No long distance. Certainly no out of state. I cannot respond to questions as to whether the animal is available. Please DO NOT contact me asking if the animal is available. A home check and a background check are MANDATORY to be considered. If you are unable or unwilling to consent to these requirements, please do not apply. An adoption interview Is REQUIRED. One of our volunteers must meet and observe the dog interact with every member of the household, including pets. Preference will be given to individuals who follow the instructions AND provide complete information for adoption purposes. 1) Please go to our website ( http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html ) 2) submit it online. Must include dog’s name and “forward to Kim” under pet’s name 3) then forward the confirmation email to me directly at animalsandkim@gmail.com That’s it: easy Peezy! You must Submit an application or at least provide written answers to the following questions in an email in order for me to respond: Must include information on EVERY person in household Number of people in household and their ages ______________________________ ____________________________________________________________ occupations ________________________________________________________________________________________ Type of residential dwelling? __________________ Rent or own? Address: __________________ __________________ __________________ Phone number: __________________ Text available? does anyone in the family suffer from allergies? ___________________ I currently own _____ dogs and _____ cats. _______ other animals and types _________ their breed(s) and age(s) are as follows: ____________________________________________________________ are you willing to housebreak this pet? ________________ how will you exercise your pet?______________________ how long will your pet be left alone during the day or night? _______________ where will your pet sleep?___________________________________________ do you have a door that will enable your pet to go in and out of the house freely while he is being house trained? do you have a swimming pool ?_________________________________ dogs frequently dig, chew and bark - are you willing to work with the dog to stop this behavior? under what circumstance would you not be able to keep your dog? Pets can live 12 to 15 years. Would anyone be willing to help with your pet if you could no longer take care of him/her? would you object to a volunteer visiting your home?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jewel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
