My story

🐕 🐕 KELLY (ST. PADDY’S DAY PUPPIES) Male McNab / Border Collie Mix 16 weeks (Born Appx Feb 1st), 16 lbs and #AVAILABLE – for more pictures of KELLY, his siblings, and others please click https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐕 KELLY, 15 pounds and a smooth coat, is the most reserved of the group. He is like the middle child, not as intense as his sister Quinn and not as serious as his brother Patrick. Kelly is very athletic, but will settle in quickly for quiet time and belly rubs when away from his siblings. Kelly is progressing nicely with crate and sit. KELLY loves people, gets along great with other puppies and adult dogs, but will need a cat-free environment. He is too interested and overexcited when he sees felines. Arriving to our rescue on March 17th, the St. Paddy’s Day puppies range from 13 to 17 lbs. With their bat ears, slim bodies, and cat-like feet we believe them to be McNab / border collie mixes. These puppies are coming PARTIALLY SPONSORED. Their adoption fees will be $125 plus the $75 spay / neuter deposit (that’s a $300 sponsored reduction). The six puppies were split into two foster homes, with Patrick, Quinn (adopted), and Kelly in one home while Owen, Nora, and Erin (adopted) are in another. KELLY is making good progress on his potty habits. He got the knack of the doggie door leading from their pen to the secure deck very quickly. He and his brother have made the transition from their pen to being crated overnight and during down time with the adult dogs. They have learned quickly that crate time is not for potty time, and remain quiet in their crates. However, they will alert us when the have to go out. They eat meals in their crates and are treated when they go in their crates, reinforcing it is their safe place. There is still the occasional accident during free time but those are now few and far between. Kelly travels quietly while crated in the car. KELLY is both treat and praise motivated, and that is a good thing as he will need lots of physical activity and mental stimulation to be the best boy he can be. He is much more into activity than toys. A structured activity such as agility, nosework, or flyball would be of great benefit to him. KELLY was the first to chase and pick up the ball. He will run around with it a bit, but has not yet brought it back for rinse and repeat. If you are looking for a fun-loving, active puppy to add to your family KELLY might just be your boy. THE ST. PADDY’S DAY PUPPIES are current on vaccinations, as well as heartworm and flea/tick prevention. They are microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, they will need to be altered by their new owner when they reach approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Application and wish to enquire (or apply here - https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) about the pups, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. KELLY is being fostered north of Corning in Tehama County, California.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt KELLY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
