My story

**FORD HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Ford, a handsome, friendly, well-behaved, and easy-going male Husky/Shepherd mix looking for a loving family. Ford was rescued from an over-burdened, open-intake animal control facility in rural Kentucky. He is estimated to be between 5-7 years old and weighs in at 45 pounds. He was surrendered with several other dogs from the same home when their owner became too overwhelmed to care for all of them. He is now in a loving foster home in Chicago, awaiting adoption. Ford loves meeting new people and greets everyone with a smile on his face, wags of his tail, and gentle kisses. He's a great mix of energies. He's playful and happy to get out for long walks and explore but also just as happy to hang out on the sofa with his favorite people. Ford has gotten along famously with everyone human and canine he's met while in our care, and we think this amazing fella will fit in well in almost any home. He will make a fantastic family dog for one very lucky household. Ford is quiet and well-behaved in the home, trustworthy with free run of the home when alone and housebroken. He's also being fostered with several other dogs and does well with his canine foster siblings. He is currently in a foster home on Chicago's far southwest side and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. His adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He was recently neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Unfortunately, he did test positive for a heartworm infection but has successfully completed treatment. He is ready to go home today! For more information or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within three days of applying. • Ford's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. To complete an adoption application online, visit http://palsplacerescue.org/adopt/ or email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an application or more information. Please do not apply unless you are ready to welcome a new member into the home within three days of applying. • Pal's Place adoption fees start at $475 for puppies and $375 for dogs aged six months or older. This fee helps to cover medical expenses needed to prepare dogs for adoption (vaccines, microchips, spay/neuter surgeries, etc.), feeding, transportation, and general care for the dogs. Pal's Place is 100% reliant on donations to care for our rescued dogs. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website, www.palsplacerescue.org, for an adoption application. Pal's Place is a volunteer-run organization. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response. Please also check your spam/junk folder when awaiting an answer; sometimes, replies and applications end up there! • All our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application is received. For more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred contact method and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ford (ADOPTED!), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
