My story

Dante, which in Latin means “everlasting,” will be the loyal dog you’ve been searching for…because his love for you, in turn, will be just that, everlasting. This handsome 10-year-old, 20 lb. Jack Russel Terrier came to Connecticut from Puerto Rico after his owner tragically passed away. He is currently staying with a family friend as he awaits his new furever home and is in immediate need of a foster or adopter. Like most Jack Russell Terriers, this guy loves to explore and play. Even at 10 years old, he enjoys a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, romp in the yard, or drive through town. Dante is a big fan of toys and will proudly stroll around with one in his mouth. As demonstrated with his past owner, he’s devoted to his person and enjoys being next to you. Listening to calming music is his favorite as he soaks in all the cuddles and pets you have to offer. Losing his best friend was very traumatic for Dante so he needs someone who is going to be patient with him as he builds trust with you. While in Puerto Rico, he lived a very sheltered life. His ideal home would be one with adults only. With a curious, affectionate, and playful personality, Dante will make a wonderful companion. Finding an adopter that understands decompression and can put in the time to dedicate to training Dante would be very beneficial. JRT breed experience is also highly preferred.
