FranAfter reading my interview, I hope you will understand and sympathize with me and my trust issues. In 2022, I was surrendered to HSHC because the dog in the home would not tolerate living with me. I was only 10 months old. I was adopted six days later and lived with this owner for 2.5 years. Unfortunately, I arrived as a stray on June 3. My owner was contacted, but he did not want me back. He did report that I was happy living with their small dog, but the large dog was intimidating. I did well with the child in the home, but rowdy kids made me nervous. I can assure you that I am litterbox trained. I am now 3.5-years-old and, of course, I was spayed when I was here the first time. I am a petite female with a brown and black tabby coat. Since returning to the HSHC, I have been losing weight. The ear mites in my ears were driving me batty, and I scratched my ears until they bled. I was treated for them and thankfully, they are gone. The veterinarian has placed me on a liver supplement, which may be due to my being dehydrated. A positive aspect of being at the HSHC is that my weight has now improved. The fact is, I don`t have a great track record with human beings. I did not feel wanted in my homes and began to distrust people. Coming to the shelter has helped me physically, but I am still wary of interacting with folks. The interviewer lady (IL) whispered to me that I looked terrified, and she let me stay in my Kasa without touching me. I began to put my front legs outside, but when she moved, I pulled back. I am so conflicted! I want to be loved and given affection, but I am fearful of letting my guard down. I need a loving, forever home with a human being who is committed to taking care of me. A patient, sympathetic cat lover is just what the doctor ordered. 7-23-25
