My story

Hey there! I’m Colman – your future best friend, tennis ball enthusiast, and all-around good boy.I’m a 10 year old hound mix with a heart full of love and a mouth full of tennis balls (seriously—I like to keep one on standby at all times). My happy place? A big fenced yard where I can zoom around playing fetch and show off my speed. I also enjoy walks and jogs on-leash, especially with a harness that helps me remember not to pull—though I’ll admit, I sometimes get a little too excited to get back home… to my ball. When I’m not channeling my inner athlete, I’m a pro napper. Find me the fluffiest bed in the house and I’ll snooze the day away like a champ. I’m respectful of your space (no bed-hopping unless invited!), but if you’re up for cuddles, I’m all in. Lazy days are totally my vibe. Now, I’ll be honest—I’m still working on my confidence. New people can make me nervous, and I need a little time and space to warm up. I might approach cautiously at first, but with some tasty treats and a quick game of fetch, I’ll soon be wagging and ready to be your loyal shadow. I’m a devoted watchdog too—I take my job seriously and will let you know if anyone’s at the door. Because of this, I’d do best in a calmer home without frequent visitors or loud gatherings.Smart? You bet. I know tons of tricks—sit, shake, down, roll over, place, and more. I can even balance treats or a tennis ball on my nose and wait for the release command. House-trained? Absolutely. I’ll always let you know when I need to go out, and I’m kennel-trained too, sleeping peacefully through the night or resting while you’re away.My dream home? One without other pets or small kids, a yard to call my own (though I’m flexible if I get my exercise), and most of all—a patient, loving family who’ll help me build confidence and never run out of tennis balls.Think we’re a match? I’ll be here, waiting—with a ball in my mouth and love in my heart. ***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Colman, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
