If you'd like to meet Daryl, please read his full profile. Also, please note, while we are listing him as a Russian Blue, he is likely a mixed breed and is therefore, not "hypoallergenic". Also, please note he is FIV+; while it isn't a huge deal, please educate yourself on this condition. Once you've done that and would like to move forward, we ask that you then visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment. Walk-in hours are also available if that is more convenient for you. www.ggohinc.com Say "Hi" to Daryl. This sweet fella is the most beautiful soul you will ever meet. He is gentle and calm. And yes, a bit shy but once you meet him, you'll understand that trait and fall completely for him - he will put you under his spell - it's unavoidable! It took Daryl a while to accept us humans but boy, does he ever now. He loves belly rubs and head butts. And treats - that's a big YES please. And all of this is on his terms - he will come to you when he wants attention and he'll quietly step away when he's done. He prefers to be at eye level with you and is not real keen on being picked up (at least not yet, anyway). He's great with other cats and often can be found snuggling in a pile o' kitties. And he's good with children, but prefers the calmer variety. :) Daryl will likely need some time to adjust to new surroundings so we ask that you be prepared for that and not expect him to just instantly be at home with you. It will take time, but he is sooooo worth it. You really should come meet him - he is such a special fella and we just know you'll love him. Also to mention, Daryl is FIV+. It's really not a huge deal, but please be aware of this and educate yourself on what owning an FIV+ cat entails. Most important for FIV+ cats is a healthy diet, a stable and safe environment, and regular, routine vet visits (at least yearly) to ensure he's in tip-top shape. FIV+ cats can live with non-FIV cats as long as they aren't aggressive or dominant, and Daryl is neither of those. With proper care and a good home, Daryl will like have a life span that is not different than any other cat. If his FIV status is a deal-breaker for you, we certainly understand but if it's not, please come meet him and let him show you just how wonderful he truly is. A quick tidbit on Daryl's background - he came to us some time ago from the humane society. He was from a farm colony and arrived at the HS with his brother; GGOH accepted them both. His brother was initially much more outgoing and found a home in short order - can it be Daryl's turn now? So what do you say, can you give this sweet fella a chance? Give him unconditional love? Give him the home he deserves? Gosh we sure hope so! Daryl's approx. DOB is 3/24/2020.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Daryl, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
