My story

Meet our playful houndy girl named Vala! Vala is about 3 years old and she came to our shelter after she, and a couple other dogs, were left abandoned, tied to a fence. Vala has a beautiful brindle coat and with that, and her body style, we think she could be a Tennessee Treeing Brindle. This is a type of hound dog. Vala can be very timid and slow to trust new people, but who can blame her after she was dumped out of her home! Once Vala gets to know someone, she has a very outgoing personality! She is very food motivated and also loves chasing toys in our backyard. She can be a very silly and jumpy girl once she is comfortable. Vala needs a family who is willing to be patient with her while she discovers new things. We believe she is very trainable and will make a wonderful companion for the right family. Vala tested well with other dogs, but any doggie siblings must be okay with rough housing type play. She can go to a home with children 16 years old and older. If you are interested in meeting Vala, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Vala! Playful Hound Girl!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
