My story

Microchipped - DOB: April 21, 2015 Nevsky is a sweet but shy & nervous cat in a new environment. Once she earns your trust, she is the absolutely most cuddly cat ever and will smother you with snuggles. She quickly made herself the dominant cat in the three in my home and took to attacking my smaller resident cat. She would likely be best in a single cat home where she can just focus on her human. She has the cutest tiny meow and trills more than she meows (see Owl Kitty YouTube videos as she's basically a short-haired version of Owl Kitty.) She loves to climb on your chest when you are sitting down to snuggle you under your chin and rub her head against it and lick your arms. She comes to you for this so don't think you can pick her up - she'll squirm until you release her. She's a climber and somehow managed to climb into my greenhouse window to mow down my spider plants without breaking any of the vases in front of them - Stealth Kitty (ground level cat grass now!) She and another cat were surrendered by their owner to the Gatineau SPCA due to allergies. She was thought to be bonded with the other cat, however they seem to just tolerate each other and will at times fight. Nevsky had alopecia on her stomach, hind legs and patches on her fore paws when she was surrendered. It was originally thought to be due to over-grooming from stress, however a round of meds and a special hypoallergenic diet has proven that theory wrong and her fur is starting to grow back. With the itchiness addressed, she isn't licking these areas as much and her legs are almost fully covered now. Her belly and inner thighs are taking a bit longer to recover. It is the softest coat so she'll be a lovely house panther when it all comes back in. Special note from Nevsky's foster family: Nevsky is a lovely, affectionate and cuddly cat that will be easy to adopt to someone who has no other cats, doesn't mind being smothered with snuggles by a purring love bug and is willing to keep her on the special diet and/or meds that keep her from licking her fur off. And, oh those eyes!!!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nevsky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
