My story

Torchy is a courtesy posting and not an Animal Rescue of the Rockies dog. But his foster asks that all interested individuals fill out our  adoption application .   Meet Torchy – A Sweet, Silly 5-Year-Old Who’s Ready to Steal Your Heart! At 5 years old and 45 pounds, Torchy is a lovable bundle of joy with a heart full of affection and energy to spare! Once he settles in and feels safe with his humans, he opens up in the most endearing ways – expect plenty of licks, cuddles, snuggles, and playful antics. Torchy's zest for life includes his love for engaging with other dogs (sometimes a little too exuberantly!), making friends wherever he goes. Torchy’s favorite time of day? Walks, hands down! He can’t wait to hit the pavement and explore the world, tail wagging with excitement. He’s also a big fan of toys, especially Nylabones, soft plush toys, and his ultimate favorite – his wobble Kong. You’ll love watching him go into full-on “boxing mode” as he plays! When he’s not being silly and energetic, Torchy loves to show off his belly (all four paws in the air!) as an open invitation for belly rubs. Trust us, he adores them. Torchy is not only playful and fun, but he’s also smart as a whip! He’s mastered basic commands like “come,” “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “off,” “no,” “touch,” and “leave it” and is highly motivated by love, food (he’s a foodie!), and toys. He even accepts treats, like his favorite Charlie Bear biscuits, with perfect manners. This handsome boy is crate-trained, leash-trained, and housebroken. He’s also completed a 4-week obedience training program with the American Canine Academy, and adopters will enjoy free lifetime training support from them. Torchy is a quick learner and thrives with structure, so he’ll do best with an experienced adopter who can be his loving “pack leader” and continue his training. With the right guidance and mental/physical stimulation, Torchy will be your forever companion, ready for a lifetime of love and adventures.
