Sally Suede

My story

Meet SALLY SUEDE, a senior SPHYNX who is believed to be about 12 years old. After Sally’s owner passed away, a family member took her in. Sally had just lost her owner that she loved for over a decade and then found herself being bullied by the two resident cats. It got so bad that Sally wouldn’t eat or go to the litter box ,so she started having litter box accidents. Sally then started overgrooming and finally self-mutilating her tail. While we never like to see animals surrendered to shelters, we are grateful that the family member recognized that she was declining before it got any worse and surrendered her to a city shelter. One of our amazing fosters took her into her home and started showering her with love and kisses and warm little outfits. We love, love, love hairless cats at Posh. If you have ever met one, you will agree their warm skin always matches their warm hearts and loving personalities. They truly are SPECIAL creatures. We thought Sally’s tail was healing but she started attacking it again and reopened her wounds. We immediately did a vet visit and as we thought might happen, part of her tail needed to be amputated. Sally also had a broken tooth which was addressed during a dental. After senior bloodwork, a dental, and a little nip and tuck on her tail, Sally is feeling much better and eating nicely. While Sally's tail is fully healed, she is currently on medication to help keep her from bothering her tail. She will likely need to stay on the medication for the foreseeable future so her adopter should be comfortable with that. Sally would love a home where she can have constant access to her humans and SNUGGLE with them often. Sally loves to be on your LAP or touching any part of you at all times. Sally is not reactive to other cats but due to her history, we would love Sally to be an only cat or to live with another senior, kind hearted and gentle cat like herself.
