Liza von Lenterode

My story

Liza von Lenterode is a beautiful, 4-year-old Shepherd mix. Sweet Liza is medium in size and energy level. She bonds quickly and wants to please. She is super-smart and very obedient; takes treats gently and already knows several commands (sit, down, stay, leave it, paw, twirl). This lovely girl is house-trained and okay with cats. On leash she walks well, staying close to her handler and being happiest when there is another dog accompanying them. Athletically-inclined Liza will probably do well in anything sports-related, such as agility competitions and swimming (she loves the water). She would be a great hiking buddy who will thrive with a job such as scenting, search-and-find, etc. At the top of Liza's wish list is an active home with another dog in residence and children 10 or older. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
