My story

Hailey is a sweet senior lady who first came to PACC back in 2022 when her people were moving and were unable to take her along. In her original home, she did well with other dogs, cats, and kids. She was reportedly housetrained and crate trained, and her people described her as a sweet girl that thinks she`s a lap dog despite her large size. Hailey was adopted but has now found herself back in the shelter after two years in another home. She again did well with cats, was housetrained, and was described as a couch potato. She’s a senior citizen now, so may appreciate a quieter, kiddo free home at this point in her life!Hailey spent some time in a foster home as well- here’s what here foster told us:- Hailey is a gentle giant; very calm but still has pep!- She listens well and adjusted quickly to a new environment.- She does well in the car.- She is quiet, takes treats gently, and is polite on leash.- She loves her walks and gets excited when she sees the leash.- She is a light snorer, which is so cute!- She loves to dip her feet in the water.- She is eager to please, wants companionship, and likes affection - She is crate trained and housebroken.“Hailey is a great dog and would make a wonderful companion for a single person who works full time that doesn`t want to worry about their house getting destroyed as it might with a young dog or puppy. Also would make a good companion for an older couple as she is mellow and sleeps a lot since she is older.”Here’s what one volunteer said about Hailey:“I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with Hailey whenever I’m at PACC. She has really turned into a friendly and affectionate gal who gets excited when she sees me. I now get tail wags and smiles when I show up to take her out. She continues to be very easy to leash up, handle and walk and she is always well-behaved and non-reactive while we’re out. We spend lots of time in the play yard and the more time I spend with her, the more she seeks affection. Hailey is always extremely calm, gentle, and quiet. She knows how to sit for treats and takes them very gently. She is sweet and lovable and her easygoing and tender nature makes her a pleasure to spend time with. She would be the perfect companion in a calm home with someone kind and gentle.”Hailey shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been independent and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She has s
