My story

Name: Orange Breed: German Shepherd Mix Sex/DOB: FS 10/25/21 Known Health Issues: Bilateral hip dysplasia. Both hips need replacing, and will be completed by Inugoya. Included with adoption. Good With: Confident, male dogs. Cats unlikely to be a good fit, strong prey drive. NO DOG PARKS. NO PERSONS UNDER 18. *Bite history* Will be discussed with approved applicants. Orange is a fun loving girl, who lives for adventure! She is active, athletic, and always down to enjoy an activity. She enjoys hiking, running, and playing in the water! Orange was born at our facility in 2021, and enjoyed a few years with an adoptive family. Unfortunately that family did not put the training in that she needed to succeed, and she was returned summer 2025. She has had the winter "off" to reset, be a dog, and get some manners back on board. She is ready for her summer adventures! Orange is very much a one person type dog. She is also a softer, more insecure dog, and needs clear rules, structure, and boundaries so she doesn't make poor choices. She is NOT a match for homes with a lot of people coming and going, and should be crated when guests, or service persons are on the property. Orange loves to train! She needs someone experienced with Shepherds, that enjoys daily training activities, and building confidence through that bond. She does not need heavy handed, authoritarian, compulsion based training, and works best with balanced, cooperative care. She is not a dog that will be your best friend at first meeting, nor does she want or need to be babied. She's looking for someone that understands the breed, and their true heart, who would enjoy a moderate drive girl. Orange needs both her hips replaced. This will be scheduled for 2026. She is not a dog that will adapt to moving during recovery, so depending on the timing of your application, we will schedule meetings and visits based on her progression. Recovery is typically 8 to 12 weeks, so depending on how the first one goes, whether or not the second one will also be done this year, or if it will be done the following year. Both hip replacements are covered with her adoption. Orange is a very special girl, and I will be taking great care that she ends up with the right match is time. She's a wonderful girl, with a lot of love to give, who absolutely enjoys life! She would do well with another male canine companion in the home, and typically matches best with more confident dogs that tolerate a more rough style of play. She however doesn't tolerate rudeness, or any extremely over the top play. She's extremely selective with female dogs, so it would be unlikely a female dog in the home would be a safe match. I would be hesitant on cats, as she does have very strong prey drive. It could potentially be discussed in the right training environment. No persons under 18 will be considered due to previous bite history. Bite history will not be discussed without an application in hand. If you love a dog that only had eyes for you, enjoy dog training as part of your daily lifestyle, and spend most of your time outdoors, she could be your girl! Please email InugoyaAdoptions@outlook.com for an application link, or complete it through her Adopt A Pet profile. ________________________________ *ALL ADOPTERS MUST ATTEND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING WITH THEIR DOG, UPON ADOPTION* *ALL ADOPTERS MUST OBTAIN, AND MAINTAIN PET INSURANCE FOR THEIR DOG* ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
