My story

Hi, my name is Choppo and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Aug 12, 2025. Meet Choppo! This handsome guy has been through a lot in his short little life, he came to the shelter needing urgent medical treatment. After over a month he is finally ready to find his forever home. Personality: Choppo was in rough shape when he first came to the shelter and we have slowly been learning about who he is overtime. Choppo is a sweetheart, who loves to give kisses and get bully rubs. He loves TOYS, maybe a little too much, he might have an obsession with them. History: It is unknown how Choppo is with other animals, we recommend no small animals, he does seem to have a high prey drive. He could do well with another female dog of similar size. We always recommend slow and careful introductions overtime. Energy levels: Choppo is a young man, now that he is feeling better would love to have an active owner who will get him outside for walks, hikes, even just hanging out in the great outdoors. Once Choppo gets his energy out, he is happy to take a long nap on his bed, your bed, the couch, wherever he can sprawl out.Ideal home: Choppo is looking for an Adult Only home, he has shown some resource guarding behavior in the shelter with toys. His new owners should be open to working with a Qualified Trainer or Behaviorist to help him be the best dog he can be. Choppo could go home to a female dog of similar size but would not be a great fit for small animals. Choppo would do well in a home with a fully fenced back yard, apartment living is not ideal for this guy. Can you give this boy a new loving home? Stop by and see him today!
