My story

Luna Mia has a sad story. She was first rescued as a puppy from a farm where she was living by herself in a chicken coop. The farmer planned on breeding her once she was old enough. She was frightened and not socialized. She came to this rescue very nervous and frightened of everything. She learned to trust people here, and was adopted by wonderful people who named her Mia. Sadly after a couple of years her owner passed away unexpectedly, Mia was with her when that happened. She was traumatized and confused. The owner's husband could not keep her and returned her to the rescue. Luna-Mia got re-aquainted with the kennel and the caretakers/volunteers here. She is happy here but would love her own home again. Luna-Mia is housebroken, well mannered, and a wonderful dog once she learns to trust a new person. Until she does trust someone new, she shows "fear aggression" though she has become better about getting to know new people, and sometimes she warms up to a new person very quickly. Luna-Mia is looking for that perfect home for her. She should have a secure fenced yard for safety since she is a fearful dog. No children. and she would prefer to be the only pet. Luna-Mia will make someone very happy, she is a wonderful dog for someone who can give her a little time to adjust to her new home. She will be a wonderful companion, she loves to go on long walks, hang out quietly, and go on car rides!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Luna Mia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
