My story

Not only is Stitch extremely handsome, but he is a sweet, happy boy. He is a little cautious when first meeting strangers, but he warms up quickly. He loves being on the receiving end of a little one on one personal attention from his humans. Since he came to us with several other dogs from his household, he gets along with other dogs and enjoys running around and playing with them. The lady that owned them was in very bad health and had to go into the nursing home. Her teenage grandson loved her and thought enough of her and her dogs to get them into a rescue so they would be safe and we could find them great new homes. Since he is used to living with an older woman, he would probably do best in an adult home or at least one with older children. Unfortunately Stitch tested positive for heartworms, so he has just completed his heartworm treatment and has been given a clean bill of health. Since he had to be confined during treatment, he has gained a little weight, but nothing a few daily walks or play sessions won’t help with. Stitch is 3 years old, weighs 29 pounds, has been neutered, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested and is current on all vaccinations, worming and on heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $400. Stitch is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will be transported to his pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and his fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we are not accepting applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine on him since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt STITCH, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
