My story

Say hello to Tamale – the toy-loving, pool-dipping cuddle king! At 7 years old and 74 pounds, Tamale is a goofy, lovable Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for toys. His morning ritual? Picking out his favorite toy and proudly carrying it on his walk like a prized possession! He’s also a summertime guy—on hot days, you’ll catch him sticking his whole face in the kiddie pool just to cool off and have a little fun. Tamale came back to us when his owner had to move, but he was an absolute dream in the home. Playful when it’s time for fun, lazy when it’s time to lounge—he’s a perfect blend of silly and snuggly. He previously lived with young kids and shows promise for a family home, though he does get a bit excited meeting new people, so slow introductions are best.This social guy really enjoys other dogs and is a fantastic playmate. That said, if he were to live with another dog, it would require a little management to keep everyone feeling happy and safe. The right match, with structure, could bring out his best side.Life at the shelter has been hard for Tamale—he’s struggling with the stress of kennel life and is more than ready to stretch out on a couch again, whether in his forever home or with a loving foster who can help him make that next step.
