Chico

My story

Chico is guessed to be about 8 years old and weighs about 9 lbs. He came to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control where he had ended up as a stray and no one came to claim him. Chico is an energetic little guy who likes to explore, but also loves to burrow in his blankets/bed Chihuahua style and take a good nap. He's the perfect balance. Chico needs a slow introduction to other dogs and he doesn't seem to like bigger dogs much.. We think he would do best as an only dog or with smaller low key dogs. Chico tends to bark if he hears noises outside or sees people while on walks, so he might prefer to live in a more quiet residential area versus a very busy city lifestyle- which may prove to be too much stimulation. Chico is slow to warm up to new people and initially is very barky. He warms up to kids quicker than adults and absolutely adores his human foster brother. He can be snappy if pet or touched when he isn't in the mood, so he would need a home with dog savvy kids. Chico's adoption donation of $290 helps cover the cost of his medical care.
