My story

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org We use TXCR TRansport and Your TX Rescue Connection to move our dogs. So, I was named for the lioness in Disney's iconic 1994 movie, "The Lion King". The original Nala and I have a lot in common; we are kinda' the same color and we are loyal and brave. In the movie, Nala fights with Simba to regain the kingdom after it is taken over by Scar and his hyena henchmen. In my life, I have had to struggle hard to take care of my puppies and not have anything bad happen to my family. All of my puppies are old enough to go to their own homes, now, and it is my turn to be the baby for a change!! I am a sweet girl but am shy upon meeting new people. But, after a couple of treats and belly scritches, we can be friend for life!! Well, it may take a little more than that to be my LIFE long friend!! I know basic "good girl" commands like "come", "sit", "get off the couch"...you know, the stuff that helps a girl get by!! I am house trained and crate trained, but really prefer sleeping on Foster Mum's lap. At only 2 years young, I have a lot of years ahead of me to learn stuff and just need someone patient and kind to love me. I am a Chihuahua/Jack Russel Terrier mix. At 10 pounds, I have attained my full adult size. Foster Mum says that I am "all play all day" kind of gal...hey, after being a teen mom, I think it is my right to have a little play time!! I love other small dogs and try to get the cats to play with me. The cats are kinda stogie about play time and mostly smack me in the face. Oh, well, it is worth a try!! I get on fine with Foster Mum's old Labrador Retriever because he mostly lays around and doesn't get all up in my bidnizz!!. But, other big dogs scare me!! It is fight or flight if a large dog heads in my direction. If you have the room in your home and heart for a pint sized dog with the heart of a lioness, I am your gal!!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nala, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
