My story

Callie is the sweetest little girl! She is coming to Colorado from Houston, TX to find her forever home. She is initially a bit shy, but warms up fast. When she is a bit nervous, she rolls over onto her back and accepts belly rubs from anyone. Callie is an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix. She is just 1 year old, and a small girl at only 33 lbs! (She IS full grown). Callie is very gentle and friendly with other dogs, and currently in a foster home with another doggo. Callie's foster let us know that she is very sweet, smart, and eager to learn/please. We would like to see Callie in a home where she'll get consistent mental and physical stimulation, exercise and tons of love. Blue Heelers and Aussies both are active, very smart dogs. Callie will thrive with socialization, training, and exercise! Farfel' has found over time (we've rescued more than 3,000 dogs over 15 years of rescue) that families that attend even just one basic training class (with a positive reinforcement trainer) keep their dogs for life. Dogs that do not get proper training and socialization have a much higher risk of developing behavioral problems down the line. There is also a bonding that occurs during training between dog and human. Farfel's Rescue is not willing to adopt to a home that is not in favor of positive-reinforcement training. With any rescue, moving from a shelter to a foster to an adoptive home can be very confusing. Farfel's Rescue requires a one week trial period with every adoption, to allow time for the rescue dog to adjust, and warm up in a new home/environment. An adopter willing to give this sweet dog time to warm up in a new situation, will help a rescue pup thrive. Callie is up to date on her vaccines, but not yet spayed. Farfel's Rescue covers all cost of Callie's spay, and spay is required to finalize any adoption per the state of Colorado. Callie is available for adoption on 9/29/21! Applications are currently being accepted for this very kind, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Callie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
