My story

Scarlett is a petite 7 month old female, Whippet/Terrier mix, weighing in at 27 pounds. Scarlett went on an outing to Lake George recently and did wonderful meeting everyone! She is a very sweet and affectionate little lady. She is very friendly and she loves to give kisses. She is house trained and crate trained. She does well when left alone whether she is in her crate or not. Scarlett is a higher energy pup and will need to be exercised, but she does settle nicely and will sleep by your feet if you're working on the computer or watching TV! She does well with other dogs. Currently, she is living in a home with 5 other dogs ranging from 8lbs-90lbs. Sometimes some of the dogs can find her a little annoying and correct her and she handles their corrections very well. One thing we have noticed is that she tends to resource guard HER things. She doesn’t want the other dogs near her food or crate. She gives them a little grumble and they walk away. She would do fine in a home with or without another dog. She really enjoys people, so it wouldn’t hurt her feelings if she didn’t have a dog friend. Scarlett could use some obedience training for things like jumping when she’s excited because she was never corrected. We are working on that. Scarlett is a wonderful little pup who is so deserving of finding her forever home! *SPAY IT FORWARD $50 ADDED TO ADOPTION FEE TO HELP THE SPAY AND NEUTER CAUSE THROUGH OUR RESCUE IN FLORIDA* Want to Adopt? 1) Fill out an application on theluckypuppy.org The donation fees are minimum $475 for puppies up to 6 months, minimum $400 for dogs 7 months to 6 years and minimum $ 300 for 7+ years/Special Needs. 2) Once your application is in, our adoption coordinator will contact you and complete a vet check and home visit (possibly electronic). 3) Once approved, please schedule a meet and greet to see the dogs.
