My story

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our pups once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org Those soulful brown eyes, that adorably squished in snout, that oh-so-soft non-shedding hypo allergenic pettable fur!! I know, I hear it all of the time...I am a Cutie Patootie! (Whatever that means!!) I weigh in at 13 pounds of love and affection! I am a male 2 1/2 year old Shih tzu. My family bought me from a breeder and I have lived with them for my entire life, but they are busy going back to work and school and need to "down size." A sad situation for me and my brother, Tonka. If you are considering adopting two new family members, maybe it could be me and my brother? We are very bonded. However, if you only have a place in your heart and home for one pupper at this time, we will adjust to being separated. By nature, I am docile and a little shy upon first meeting. It takes me just a little while to warm up, but then I am very sweet. I love being petted and cuddled.. I run to my Mom every morning to get my first snuggle of the day!! I also like to lick peoples legs so they will bend down to pet me and snuggle under blankets. Although I have never been around cats, I would most likely be a little afraid of them at first, rather than wanting to harm or chase them. I am fine with other dogs and am submissive towards them. I am a good boy and just try to get along and stay out of trouble. I would do best in a household with other dogs (hopefully, my brother, Tonka?). My original family has an 8 and 11 year old kiddos. I get along great with them and even indulge them by letting them dress me up! Kinda silly, right? If you are looking to add a low maintenance, sweet natured fur kid to your family, pick me!!!!
