My story

Hey! Danny (DOB 9/21/2020) here! I am Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix who's looking for a new, active home. I have been with my foster family for a while and whereas they are pretty wonderful, I am ready to leave the nest and find my own place. I am over 4 years old now and have outgrown the puppy-mouthing phase but still love some one-on-one snuggle time on the couch with my favorite human. My crate is a cool place to hang out in when my foster fam can’t take me in the car with them, especially when I have my special bone or a puzzle to work on to keep me busy. My foster dog siblings are cool to hang out with so a dog brother or sister would be okay although being an only (dog) child would be okay too. I'm okay with the felines if they leave me alone. And I am a little nervous meeting new people and dogs so apartment life still isn’t meant for me. New things can be a little scary but continual self-improvement is a lifelong goal of mine so who wants to learn some new things together? For example, I have learned car rides are fun and there are these things called drive throughs where people hand you yummy treats. I would love to find someone to explore some new places (i.e. drive throughs) with. I love to explore new places on walks too so we can get some exercise in together after visiting the drive throughs. Who's up for some new adventures? Before applying to adopt Danny, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Danny is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Danny's care in our rescue is currently being supported by our "Muddy Paws Partners." Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs.
