My story
Pilot came to Safe Haven in 2019 after being hit by a car. He has gained a lot of weight and is recovering beautifully from being treated poorly in the past; while he is still timid around strangers, he has become very friendly with his trusted people. Because of his unfortunate past, Pilot is known to guard his resources and should be kept away from children and other dogs while he has food or treats. He loves to please his people and walks beautifully on-leash, and he is looking for a family who will be gentle and patient with him while he adjusts to life in a home. He remains calm when introduced to cats and would probably adjust well to the right multi-pet home.
