My story

Name: Truman Breeds: Husky Age: Senior Gender: Male Truman is a senior Husky who found himself in a shelter with very little chance of getting out alive. A heartworm positive senior isn't the kind of dog people are rushing down to adopt. The shelter workers cannot sing his praises enough for how sweet he is so Truman is coming to MN this weekend IF he can find a foster or adopter. It's a long shot, sure, but it's one we are going to try because Truman deserves it. Heartworm is very treatable and he will be treated at our veterinarians once he arrives--you can read more about heartworm here: http://headinghomek9rescue.com/Heartworm.pdf. The treatment is included in his adoption fee. He is an older guy, but one with plenty of life ahead of him and he is determined to live it to his fullest. He loves people and gets along with other dogs. We do not know how he is with cats. He is past the wild husky stages of puppyhood and settled nicely in a medium energy middle-aged gentleman who loves to go for a walk and then take a nice long snooze in the sun. Housetraining is unknown since he is in a shelter environment and was a stray but with a schedule and some training we expect him to pick it up very well. He sure is motivated to hear what a good boy he is and get a treat. Truman is about the sweetest and most deserving dog you could ever meet. He has every strike against him for adoption and even in a shelter that sees hundreds of dogs weekly made such an impression that they are all in love with him. He deserves to live his retirement years loved and in a forever home. Requirements: Home with yard space Adoption Fee: $300 + tax.
