Teddy is a 2 year old Male Schnoodle, weighing 14 pounds (The Schnoodle is a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Poodle.) Teddy was pulled by rescue from a high kill shelter where he was given an euthanasia date due to resource guarding his food bowl. For this reason we are searching for an ADULT ONLY, QUIET home. Teddy is doing well in his foster home with structure and routine. Teddy has suffered physical abuse in his past and does not respond well to abusive/harsh discipline. He does well with positive reinforcement training. Teddy bonds quickly to his person and would like a home where his human spends a lot of time with him. He is a true companion that follows his person wherever they go in the house. Teddy is young and will need an active human to go on walks and play with. He doesn't like to be left alone so a home where he will not be left alone for long hours of the day would be best. ***Consider your time at home commitment AFTER covid-19 restrictions are lifted. While working from home now, you will need to think about the time spent away from home after returning to work in the future. Teddy likes dogs his size or smaller. He is fearful of large dogs. He will chase cats. We would like Teddy to be the only pet in his new home where he will get all the focus and attention he is craving. Schnoodles are charming, funny and smart, and their alert nature — thanks to that double dose of Schnauzer and Poodle attentiveness — makes them excellent watchdogs. They are small dogs and typically have a curly coat that MUST be groomed by a professional regularly, every 6-8 weeks. A home with Schnoodle experience or Schnauzer experience is preferred. Schnauzer's can be temperamental so a person who is aware of their personality and loves them unconditionally would be great. Teddy's adoption fee is $300.00 which includes his neuter, current on vaccines including Rabies, de-wormed, Heart worm tested Negative, current on heart worm and flea prevention. If your home meets the requirements stated above and you want to meet Teddy, the first step is to complete an adoption application online at furgetmenotrescue.org *In State of Ohio adoptions only.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Teddy- ADOPTION PENDING, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
