My story

***Please read our bios in full. We do not have the capacity to respond to emails answering questions that are included in the write up. If a dog is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We will not answer emails re: availability. We are not a first come, first serve rescue. We review each application to find the best fit for each of our dogs. Take your time answering the questions -- rushing to submit before another applicant does not increase your chances of being chosen.*** Name: Wilbur Nicknames: Wilby. Porky. Silly butt. Snuggle butt. Willllllbur. Breed: Olde English Bulldog Age: 2 Years Sex: Male Weight: 50 lbs. Before OMD: Surrendered to us by his owner due to significant life changes. Energy Level: Medium-high. He isn’t your stereotypical couch potato Bulldog. He loves to sleep but he’s also all about his walks and zoomies. Smart Cookie Level: He knows sit and he’s happy to give his paw but to be honest, he's no Einstein when it comes to most things. Snore Level: Get your earplugs ready... Affection Level: Extreme. 100% velcro dog who loves to love and be loved. Descriptors: Friendly. Stubborn. Exuberant. Affectionate. Demanding. High maintenance. Best features: His perfectly compact meatball physique. His smooshable face and jowls. What we love most: He makes you feel like the most important person in the world. He is always up for a snuggle marathon. He prefers to nap with his head in your lap. He smiles. What makes us laugh: His high-speed paw offering if he thinks there’s a treat to be had. What he loves most: Tie. His human and the bag of snackies on the table. What else he loves: Attention. Bully sticks. Adventures. Marrow bones. Car rides. Watching the world go by from the car window. His blue football squeaky toy, which no longer squeaks, for the record. Working on: Embracing and enjoying his alone time. Jumping when excited. Begging. Hoovering food and treats. Gotta be honest: He pulls like an ox (let's not forget he has a low center of gravity, meaty neck, and muscles for days) and sounds like a screaming pterodactyl-gremlin when he sees another dog on leash. #workinprogress #yesitisthatbad Dogs: Nope. Way too overstimulated when he sees other dogs and his common sense goes out the window. Cats: Another no. Kids: Yes, but 10+ as he will knock a little one down when he’s excited. House trained: Yep! Wanted: Bully-savvy family in search of a co-pilot for daily adventures. Should be attentive and patient and equally dedicated to continued leash training and lengthy cuddle sessions. Appreciation for snoring and love of snacks and sharing the couch are a must. Wilbur is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. He’s available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from Omdrescue.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wilbur, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
