Frankie is a 4 1/2 month old Fawn Pug who came to rescue as the runt of the litter with a broken/twisted leg that was assumed would need to be amputated, as well as the diagnosis of Hydrocephalus. She was taken from her mom at an early age and it seemed all odds were against her. She was tiny, just over a pound, but has now grown to 7 pounds and counting! She has had no developmental delays and is very independent. She is sassy and does a lot of ‘talking’, and doesn’t like to take NO for an answer. She has very sharp little teeth she is always trying them out on fingers and toes! She is a typical puppy with lots of energy and limit testing. She loves car rides and cuddles and sleeps through the night. She is almost fully potty trained, but does occasionally forget when she’s in the middle of a play, and will pee where she is standing! She does not like stairs inside, but has no trouble with stairs on a deck. She loves to play fetch and run, and is not fond of her harness and leash, so a fenced yard is a must. Her leg has straightened itself around and she can bear weight on it. There have been several vet consultations, and it is believed to be a birth defect. It was decided to leave the leg as it is, as she is doing well with it. In the future, Frankie may have some complications, such as arthritis or movement issues, and there is a possibility that the leg may need to be amputated later and a potential adopter needs to understand the costs involved. She is up to date on her vaccines, Heartworm negative and will come with a voucher for her spay at 6 months. An application to adopt her can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. You must be 21 to adopt and her adoption fee is $375.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Frankie Grace, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
