My story

Microchipped, DOB: May 6, 2012 Rocky is a super sweet girl who is affectionate and always up for a cuddle! She is quite snuggly and doesn't mind being picked up. She loves to sit on the bed and in people's laps. She likes to sleep on her cat tree. Rocky is selective about toys, maybe because she’s too busy wanting to hang out with her human! Sometimes she enjoys a cardboard box or a laser toy, but usually she isn’t all that interested in toys. Something cute and silly about Rocky is that she really likes her human to hang out with her while she eats, almost like she wants to make sure it pleases them or is asking for permission. Rocky has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She takes daily medication to manage her symptoms and is doing quite well. Fair warning, the meds (Budesonide, in pill form) are critical and will be ongoing. Even when her IBD is managed well, she does still have accidents sometimes if she can’t quite make it to the litterbox in time. She eats hypoallergenic food and her foster home often supplements her diet with extra fibre. Like a human with IBD, her condition does flare up if she gets too stressed out or eats food that doesn’t sit well with her. Good habits to support Rocky: create a stable environment, designate a non-carpeted space with a gate for Rocky to hang out in when you leave the house; and use pet training pads for peace of mind on furniture and/or bedding. Rocky is an overcomer and has A LOT of love to give. If you can support her unique needs, she will repay you with a special and lovely brand of affection. This sweet cat is well-worth the trouble of having to clean up after an accident here and there. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rocky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
