My story

Meet Bico! a 4 year young ex-police-9 officer.Bico was part of a local police department who was unfortunately was not equipped nor experienced to handle or work with Bico. Bico was inactive training as a scent and apprehension dog.which he was amazing at but not challenged enough which lead to pent up energy, anxiety, and frustration followed by fearful behaviors.Bico has an apprehension on file.He also has a bite record.Bico has been with us 22 months and in that time he has learned acceptance,to be around other dogs, eliminatied all anxiety and fear.Struggles some when meeting people but easily warms up.With that said Bico is a lifetime project dog due to his training, more so lack of proper training.Mostly his breed. He is 75lb and it’s all muscle. He is exactly what the breed is and will do what they are intended to do.But continued lifetime training is a must.Continued daily core exercise, physical and mental is a priority as it’s a must. Bico loves all dogs and needs a stable pack to join.As a only dog he is anxious and nervous.Aside from all this Bico is a dodo,a good clown. He is playful, affection, outgoing holly shit stubborn, and will push every button every single chance he can just because he can.Bico is relearning proper positive reinforcement training but he also requires and needs a experienced confident strong mentally person to keep him in line and control. Bico was purchased from the Netherlands and has all his paperwork together as well as his discharged papers and passport. But none of that matters as he is fixed what Bico needs now is a home that understands the breed, will continue to facilitate his training properly, and be a pet. Absolutely NO CHILDREN of any age must have experience with R2 training, scent work,SAR work, field work, agility etc, something! A plan to keep him working. And must have breed experienced trainer. Bico adoption fee is waived. We plan to be very much hands and involved with whoever adopts him. Bico when meeting new people requires slow introduction,in his environment, walks, and wearing a MUZZLE.WHY? Until I can trust the person with him we are NOT RISKING OR FAILING Bico! Training is ongoing process that has to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities show up daily that have to be addressed or rewarded. Continuing training is a must. Bico is house and crate trained up to date on all the appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, spayed, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Out of state adopters are welcome at the adopters expense. We do NOT ship and a meet and greet is required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter. ***ADOPTION APPLICATION AND PROCESS INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE, WWW.ANIMALHOUSESANCTUARY.ORG*** Date: 03/06/2022

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
