My story

Alec is a 5 year old mixed breed dog weighing about 60 pounds. He came to us as a stray but with out-of-state numbers on his tag that weren`t in service. We`ve been unable to contact his people. Time to find him a home here! Our volunteers have had a good time getting to know Alec. Here`s what one had to say about a recent day out with him: Alec and I did the Borrego-Windsor-Bear Wallow loop in the Ski Basin today.Alec was easy and excited to get in the car - jumped right in the backseat - and enjoyed looking out the window on the drive. On the trail, he was relaxed and having a ball: he sniffed roughly 75% of the trees on the hike, was unbothered by passersby or other dogs, and, while we moved at a leisurely sniff-friendly pace (4 miles in 2.5 hours), he didn`t seem to have any trouble with the distance.Alec drank plenty of water and had a very healthy poop, though he wasn`t interested in eating any treats during the hike (he did accept them when we returned to the shelter).If you are looking for a hiking companion that is out of the wound-up-puppy-years, come meet Alec and see if he is the dog for you!Alec’s adoption fee is sponsored by Kyle`s Critters.
