My story

Name: Akali Age: 2 No children, other dogs or cats See adoption requirements below - experience Malinois handler only Hello future family! My name is Akali (it sounds like broccoli without the "br") I am 2 years old and a very special girl. I have had obedience training and I am now looking for my forever person. I will do great being in a home where I get a lot of 1:1 attention. With that I mean, we do "things" together! I love hiking, going for rides, dog sports, obedience classes. I am looking for that "partner" in life. You know I am a Belgian Malinois so may DNA is all about being with you and staying active. You won't be sorry to come and meet me if you have a place in your life where you want to have a partner who is ready to be by your side. I got really lucky and COVID-19 social distancing got me a foster home and man it was COOL! Her foster mom said this after one day, "Akali is adjusting well and having a ball. She loves running around the yard, and toys. Yesterday we stopped at PetSmart for an extra bag of food and to pick out toys. This morning we worked on sit, down, stay, and roll over. She wants to please and is full of love. She just wants to be under your feet or in your lap always. She loves to watch TV" *****Belgian Malinois Adoption requirements***** The dog you have selected is a Belgian Malinois. This is a breed that has very specific needs for an adoptive home. Because of their need for a high level of exercise, both mentally and physically and their need for ongoing training, only applicants with demonstrated owner/handler experience with this breed will be considered. The vast majority of them are not best suited as family pets, but in homes with experienced handlers knowledgeable of their needs and breed characteristics. We will not place in homes with small children or small dogs/cats. ONLY adopters who have owned/handled Malinois will be considered.
