Sam is a handsome male Beagle who was found along with another good-looking male Beagle (Charlie). Sam has a tricolor short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful Beagle face with a white mask, a black button nose, and large brown ears which frame his face. True to his Beagle heritage, Sam has a sweet, lovable personality. Sam is approximately 4 – 6 years old and currently weighs 32 lbs. Sam was rescued along with his partner Charlie who is also posted for adoption. There would be a reduced adoption fee for anyone willing to adopt both of them. They would love to stay together. Here is what Sam’s foster family had to say about him: Sam is very affectionate mature dog. He is very well behaved family dog who likes to be with his family, is curious to check whats happening in the house, but also likes to sleep a lot. He loves tummy rubs and going out for walks. He pulls a bit on walks but due to his relatively smaller size is still manageable and with some training I think he will walk fine. He loves meeting new people and other dogs and is not shy at all. Sam appears in perfect good health. Initially he was not keen on climbing stairs but now he has got used to stairs and likes following us where ever we go. Sam has moderate energy for most part but shows some puppy energy at times. He is very energetic while on walks. When at home he likes to sleep more. Sam is a loving adult dog. Sam is low shedding dog. Sam is very friendly to everyone including adults and children. However I think the kids should not be too small as he is a mature dog now and may not be used to unexpected rough handling by young kids. Sam is not shy at all. He likes to meet new people and dogs. Sam appears to like other dogs on walks as long as the other dog does not show any aggression. Sam is not exposed to cats in our home. Sam was not comfortable in the crate when we left him alone for couple of hours. He had moved the crate 2 feet from its original position indicating his stress and anxiety being alone in crate. He kept howling and crying for most part while in crate. Normally Sam does not show any particular fear or anxiety. So, we stopped using the crate and have just left him alone in the home and he has been fine. Sam loves to go on walks and sleep in the house. Sam has moderate activity in home. Sam is incredibly quiet in home. Sam will do good for any moderately active family and would love to have some backyard space to play and sniff around. Sam does not try to steal anything. Sam does not know any commands, but I think he is learning some basic things like sit. He is very easy going so it does not really matter. Sam is fully house trained. He knows how to signal you by going near the backyard door. Sam is a Beagle who likes sniffing so he is likely to escape if given a chance. Sam is comfortable in the car.
