My story

Hi! My name is Elliot and I was rescued when I was just 2 weeks old with my siblings. We lived in India up until our arrival in Los Angeles in February. I am a VERY sweet, happy, and social puppy. I love everyone especially people and other dogs. I havent yet had experience with cats yet but I'm young enough to train to do well with them. I am 4.5 months old and will be ready to go home as soon as I'm fixed. The rescue does provide the option to "foster to adopt" to see if we are the right match! I would make an excellent hiking buddy as I'm an active puppy. I do have some resource guarding due to conditions in India but I'm young enough to train out of it. I am fully vaccinated with my 3 DHPPs, rabies, and bordetella. I've been dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. I will soon be neutered as well! If you are interested in helping a puppy from India, please email us at FFLRescueNetwork@gmail.com You can also apply directly at www.friendsforliferescuenetwork.com/adopt Indian dogs on average weigh around 30-35lbs when full grown. Our official breed is "South Asian Village Dog" or "Indian Pariah Dog" and look similar to basenjis. Some things to expect when adopting a puppy: Pee/Poop accidents indoors Chewing...LOTS of chewing Biting (especially while teething) Endless Energy Needing LOTS of training & time Be sure you're aware that adoption is a 15+ year commitment. That means, if you move to a new home...you take them with you. You make sure that home allows for a dog. If you have a child, get married, divorced, etc you also keep your dog. BE VERY PREPARED. Cute puppies grow up quickly and need someone with the time to train and care for them.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elliot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
