My story

ADOPTION PENDING!!! Saami is an 8 year old boy who was returned to us about a year ago. Saami has been through a lot in his life, and has come to SLSR to find him his forever home. . Saami is a very sweet boy and handsome. He has been in foster with us and most recently has been at Misfit Dogs, an in-home boarding program with professional training. According to our trainer, Saami is a naturally dominant dog and will need a strong alpha owner who understands that Saami needs structure and a strong pack leader. Saami does have a bite history, due to lack of training and suffering from terrible skin infections which went untreated. With good food and good training, he is now ready for his forever home Saami is looking for an active person/family that wants to include him in activities and to get him out, he loves being outside. Saami walks nicely on a leash, with just a slip lead and really enjoys his walks. He has a medium energy level. We think Saami would do best with a fenced yard. Saami also has a very thick coat which needs diligent maintenance, as lack of bathing and brushing (and potential haircuts) will lead to hot spots and skin infections. Saami is good with other dogs, both big and small. He does like to bark at the cats, so any family cats would need to be tested with Saami.
