My story

Wow, we can't believe we still have this little 21 lb sweetheart! She is so much fun and has such a zest for life! Where are all the beagle adopters? Come snatch her up! She will bring absolute joy to your life with her goofy antics. Preferred adoption match: Single family home with fenced yard, suburban area. Another playful dog would be nice but is not mandatory. Kids should be old enough to know to pick up their toys as Emmie is still a bit of a chewer. She's great with other dogs. She is not good with cats. She enjoys romping in the yard and playing with toys. When she's tired she'll climb into the basket under her foster mom's desk for a nap. Indoors she's pretty quiet. Outdoors she likes to bark at wildlife and occasionally the neighbors. True to her Beagle nature, she LOVES sniffing around the yard and going on walks to have a good sniff around the neighborhood. She's medium energy, plays a bit then hangs out. She'd do fine in a suburban neighborhood. Fenced yard needed so she can enjoy off leash yard sniffing fun! Videos of Emmie playing with some of our dogs: https://youtu.be/k5WvNHURgz4 https://youtu.be/V98Rjx_Nh3c Emmie was hit by a vehicle in June and had to have FHO surgery on one hip. She's recovered now but holds up that leg sometimes. It's not painful to her and all of her rehab work is done. Some people are balking at adopting at her because they think she has "leg issues". Well if an occasional leg being held up makes you freak out, then I guess she is not the dog for you. Meanwhile she's bouncing around our house playing all day long, jumping up on furniture, and oblivious to the fact that she was ever injured by a vehicle. You can clearly see in her videos how carefree and playful she is. Does that look like a dog who's in pain or has "leg issues"? Sheesh. We're sorry she's not up to the standards of some people, but she is an awesome dog and deserving of someone better than that. If you've got a soft spot for a dog who's had a rough past, please do apply for her. You're the kind of person she deserves. Emmie is fun and will make a great family pet. Submit your application today! If you don't see a link in the previous sentence, email us to get the link to our adoption application. Emmie is fostered near zip code 18330 in northeastern PA. Please check your distance to us. Estimated age: 2-3 years. Weight: 21-22 lb. Good with: dogs, adults, children. Probably too playful for most cats. Housebroken? 95% Crate trained? Yes 100% Yard requirement: Fenced yard at least 4 feet high. Beagles like to roam and Emmy is no exception. Exercise needs: Moderate Suitable for condo/townhome living? No Fully vetted. Vetting history provided at time of adoption.
