My story

Whenever a sweet and engaging Terrier mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are engaging, super-smart and make excellent family companions. They are a great fit for most active households and are extremely loyal companions for most age groups as well as great friends for other dogs. Evie is one of these cuddly, kind and very sweet Terriers. The New Mexico vets believe Evie to be a 10 month old, 6 lb (anticipated full-grown weight of approximately 7 - 8 lbs) Tibetan Terrier mixed with Maltese. Once comfortable in her surroundings, Evie is SO smart and loving.. and a playful and very silly/entertaining girl which is very true to the Terrier traits. Most rescue dogs are initially a bit shy (rehoming can be confusing and a bit overwhelming). Once they're responsibly placed in a home with a loving family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and belly rubs.. they will begin to shine. Evie is one of these pups...she's a blank slate that's just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a loyal best friend (Terriers are known to be very loyal and loving with their families!) and the greatest snuggler ever. We're searching for a family for Evie that spends lots of time at home...or loves to take a very sweet dog along with them. Dog-loving and active retirees would be perfect for Evie. She will be a very loving best friend...overjoyed with the time spent together and the loving attention she will receive. A younger family that works from home or just part-time would be great for Evie as well. Evie would be overjoyed to have older kids to play with in the yard and then (the best part ever) to snuggle with all night long. Terriers are famous for their silly/fun personalities and sharp intelligence! It's for this reason that we feel strongly that Evie should attend positive reinforcement group training classes. She'll be a star (which builds high self-esteem) while bonding with her family and learning the skills (in a positive way) to become a well-behaved adult dog that can accompany her family out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement/ force-free trainers in your area. Evie has a scruffy non-shedding coat (or very lightly shedding.. it's difficult to tell at this point) that Terriers are known for. While Evie's coat looks a bit dull and unkempt right now, with a commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition, Evie's hair will return to the classic beauty of the Terrier breeds. We've requested that Evie be spayed prior to her arrival in Colorado. Since New Mexico shelters have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Evie's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used. Evie will be arriving on transport in Denver in early October (specific date will be added once it is finalized). Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Evie. please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving girl. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Evie-ADOPTION PENDING, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
