My story

Jackson is a very handsome 5 year old Black Lab Mix with cute white marks on his chest and his toes and has the most beautiful brown eyes! Jackson was living the pura vida in Costa Rica with his previous family that retired however the time came for them to go into assisted living back in the US and Jackson had to Cnd a new home. The second home that took him said he was an absolute perfect dog but he was too keen on the chickens they had in the backyard so they decided to ask for DLRRs help Cnding Jackson a new home. Jackson really is a fantastic dog. He puts all my resident dogs to shame with his impeccable manners. He is house trained, doggie door trained, and stays o@ furniture. He is relatively quiet but does bark occasionally when I come home from work to greet me or if he hears something outside. Jackson loves the company of other dogs and plays very appropriately. He will occasionally grab a toy, but is a pretty low key guy. Jackson hasn’t showed any interest in swimming and with the Phoenix heat would rather lounge in the comfort of the AC. Jackson loves to be petted and put his head in your lap for attention. Jackson has little experience on a leash since most of his life was spent running the co@ee Celds in Costa Rica. His old home reported him to a be a very active guy who enjoys hiking and walking but with the triple degree temps he has been fairly reserved in my home. Jackson has very limited experience with kids but he seems to be a gentle guy. No cats or livestock for this boy as he likes to chase them. For this reason, I would probably say no to toy or small dogs in the home as well. It was said while at boarding he hopped a 6 foot fence. However, in my home the last few days he has shown no interest to try and escape. I believe it is because he has dog friends who are there to keep him company. I would love to see him go to a home with other dogs for this reason or go to a home with someone home the majority of the day. Jackson is a fantastic lab and I think anyone would be blessed to call this guy theirs! If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at www.DLRRphoenix.org. Someone will call to schedule a home visit so you can become an approved adopter. Also, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook/desertlab and follow us on Instagram (DLRR of Arizona) and Twitter (@DLRR). Thanks!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jackson, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
