My story

NO CHILDREN OR OTHER PETS EXPERIENCED OWNER REQUIRED. **applicants must be in a 2 hr driving range from Toronto/Niagara area as we do home visits ourselves with our dogs** Ricoh is a 7 yr old Yorkie cross and weighs 7 lbs. He was found as a stray 5 yrs ago so his puppyhood is unknown. His owner of the past 5 yrs recently passed away leaving Ricoh without a home. Ricoh was very much loved by his owner but was overly spoiled and was allowed to get away with bad behaviour leaving Ricoh a little brat that thought he could do anything he wanted. His foster mom has been working with him and he has come a long way in learning to be a model doggie citizen. He will definitely need someone to continue with this. Ricoh is NOT good with other dogs! He does tolerate them but doesn't like when the other dogs play, bark, run, breathe....and he will take upon himself to try and stop them...like a little Tasmanian Devil! It comes on very quick and takes a few minutes for him to wind back down, therefore he would be much happier as the only dog in the home. Ricoh would also be best suited for a one person home as he does have a protective side to him from his last owner. Medically, Ricoh has yeasty skin problem and so far it is under control by feeding him raw food (which takes any carbohydrates out of his diet that turns to sugar in his system and causes the yeast). He also had extremely dry eyes and needs drops everyday to bring them back to normal tear production - which it has. This does appear to be a seasonal problem. Ricoh is good on a leash and is not reactive to other dogs (big or small) while out walking. He is a great passenger in a car. His favourite place to be is beside his human....alone. Ricoh's adoption fee is $350. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is also crate trained, puppy pad trained, and originally lived the apartment life. If you are interested in Ricoh contact Judianne@happytailsrescue.ca -or- for an online application go to www.happytailsrescue.ca/adoption-form Applications not meeting Ricoh's requirements will not be answered

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ricoh, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
