My story

$100 adoption donation Sweet Dutchess is a 17 lb, 12 year old miniature poodle who lost her home when her elderly mom could no longer care for her and was then turned in to the shelter. Dutchess was MORBIDLY obese, and having lived as the only dog princess in the house she was not too happy about having to share her space. Since being in a foster home she has lost a lot of weight, and has gotten much better with the other dogs. She still snarls when they get too near her bed or food, but we actually caught her playing with Chloe her 1 year old foster sister! Although she can be a total brat with other dogs--she only has one tooth, so she can't do any damage! As long as the other dogs will ignore her diva like behavior she can live with other dogs just fine! Dutchess was house trained until her owner became ill, so we are working on that. If taken out often she will be fine but she is also a rockstar with pee pads. She loves going for walks, rides in the car, and meeting new people. She is great with kids. She walks a little funny because of stretched ligaments in her front legs--this was caused by her being so overweight. Dutchess is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, licensed in Maricopa County, and had a complete blood panel done. Let us know if you're interested :) Available with Ruby Ranch but I too run a rescue & am fostering her!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dutchess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
