My story

Who has the cutest Lab mixes up for adoption? Lucky Lab does! Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Bacardi. Barcardi is about one year old and weighs 50lbs. We saved her when she was a mamma dog with her puppies. Now Barcardi is ready for her forever home. Bacardi is an incredibly sweet, well-mannered young dog. She displays the playfulness and energy of an older puppy/ young adult, but is very well behaved in public and when meeting people. She comes across as quiet and reserved, yet likes meeting people and dogs. We aren't positive how she is with cats, we've heard was ok, but would chase them if they ran from her. All cats and dogs act differently and have different dynamics, so we can't guarantee how she will be. She is wonderful with other dogs. She lives with four in her foster home and gets along well with all of them and all dogs she has met out and about. The very first night she arrived in her foster home she was a little growly at the females, but within a few hours they were best friends. Bacardi’s energy level ranges from very low to high. She is very quiet and well-mannered on leash, in the car, and when taken places. However, she and another dog in her foster home run sprints multiple times a day and she enjoys wrestling with dogs. She will swim for an hour when given the chance. She is housebroken, good home alone too. Her fosters typically kennel her when we leave . If they are gone for short time periods, they leave her loose in the house. She has not had any accidents. Bacardi prefers sleeping on the bed with her foster family, or on a dog bed, or on the sofa or ottoman. She will chew up small toys if left on the floor. So far she has loved everyone she meets. She lives in a foster home with 6 and 11 year old children, she loves the attention from them. She just wants love from everyone. Her foster family usually keep her on leash, but the few times we have worked her without it, she comes well. She wants to be with you and to please. She does not retrieve but loves to grab retrieval objects when the other dogs have them. Her favorite play activity: Running with the children in her foster home or with the other dogs. Bacardi walks nicely on a leash, without pulling. She is friendly to everyone she meets (people, dogs). She does not bark at other dogs. She is learning "sit." Cutest behavior: Bacardi will “creep” toward you on the bed or couch, hoping you pet her. She definitely wants the attention, but looks like she is trying to be sneaky 😉She also likes to talk sometimes. Bacardi is now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
